Multi-bay Filters

Our Multi-bay Filters offer a proven and highly effective traditional approach to pond filtration. By utilizing a series of individual chambers, these systems allow for a staged cleaning process that tackles both solid waste and dissolved toxins. This modular design makes them a favorite for koi enthusiasts who prefer a customizable and easy-to-monitor filtration setup.

Typically, the process begins with a Vortex or mechanical bay containing Filter Brushes to trap heavy debris. As the water progresses through the subsequent bays, it encounters various biological media such as Japanese Matting, Flocor, or Alphagrog. This multi-stage environment ensures that beneficial bacteria have the ideal conditions to break down ammonia and nitrite, resulting in pristine water for your pond.

Product Specifications

  • System Design: Multi-chamber gravity or pump-fed configurations.

A well-maintained Multi-bay Filter is capable of supporting high fish stocks and provides a stable biological environment. When planning your installation, ensure the filter volume is matched to your pond's surface area; for example, a pond with a 6m² surface area requires sufficient bay capacity to process the volume effectively. At Southcoast Koi and Aquatics, we provide the expert advice and components needed to get the most out of your multi-stage filtration system.
